Splinter Dance Mondays ~ Ongoing Monday classes at the Massive Monkees Studio; The Beacon!

These Monday classes are free for first-timers, $15 for drop ins, and class cards at a discounted rate are available!

~Monday Rotations include; Intersections of Hip-hop, HiLo Dance, & Fusion ~

Intersections of Hip hop w/ Justice:

March 4th / March 25th  / April 15th / May 6th

This is a class where Hip Hop intersects with Lyrical and Breakin’ .  Justice focuses on timing and musicality within the framework of hip hop, breakin’ and lyrical dance, creating an environment that is inspiring, challenging and fun! Be prepared for a warm up that includes the strength and endurance training needed to execute intermediate to advanced hip hop movement at a pace that adjusts to the needs of the students.

HiLo Dance w/ Denise:

March 11th / April 1st / April 22nd

If you’re looking for a heart-thumping, maximum energy workout to rockin’ music with a dancing twist than HiLo-Dance is for you! This class starts off with a low energy warm up and advances into a multi-impact cardio challenge. Build your endurance with high energy, fun choreography while burning the maximum calories in the least amount of time. Everyone is guaranteed to have a great time and look forward to this workout.

Fusion w/ Brenna:

March 18th / April 8th / April 29th

Fusion is movement inspired by ballet, modern, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop. This class will focus on executing and experimenting with moves through choreography while continuing to refine performance and technical skills.

Splinter is gearing up to teach a series of guest classes at the Massive
Monkees’ new studio in the International District!  Please see details
below and come join us and check out their new (beautiful!) space, The
Beacon! They also have an ongoing full schedule of classes in everything
from B-boy/girl, Popping, Locking, to Freestyle and House.  You can

Splinter @ Lunar New Year Celebration ~ Feb. 9, 2013

Seattle’s Lunar New Year Celebration – Saturday, February 9th – Splinter will be performing at 11:45am on the Main Stage, at the corner of S. King St and Maynard Ave.  Festivities are happening all day long from 11:00am – 4:00pm in and around Hing Hay Park ~ Chinatown! Come out and take part in the festivities!

The Gift of Performance…

Inspired by the season of giving and by our diverse Seattle community, Splinter would like to gift a short performance to THREE local-area non-profits (who cater to children or communities in need) in the month of December.  Please spread the word and connect us with your community contact! Next up for Splinter, a little Holiday fun at the annual Providence Christmas Carnival!  November 26th, 2012 at the Westin Seattle Ballroom, Westin Hotel, Downtown Seattle.

Come check it out – fun and activities for all ages, free and open to the public!  Activities will be happening all day long (12-8pm), and Splinter will be performing twice throughout the evening – at 6:45 and again at 7:45 pm.
Bring the family, spread some holiday cheer, and keep your eyes peeled for Splinter!

Harvest the Arts @ Mt. Baker – Sunday, Nov. 4th, 2012 ~ 4:30pm

Full performance this coming Sunday, Nov. 4th, 2012 at the Mt. Baker Community Clubhouse, Harvest the Arts Series!

4:30pm, open to the public, “pay-what-you-can” ~ Splinter will be showcasing it’s educational repertoire (both new and classic) with an hour-long show and artist Q&A afterward!

For those of you still getting to know us, this is a great opportunity to see the kind of work that we perform in schools and for youth around the world. We look forward to seeing you there!
